Heritage Walk

Planet Patna hosted a Heritage Walk on 8th December 2024, with generous support from Mr. Aditya Jalan and Mrs. Kanak Jalan. Led by Mr. Gautam Bondada and Ms. Ishani Sen, the walk brought together heritage enthusiasts for an engaging guided tour of key cultural landmarks in Patna City (listed below).

  • Shree Satyanarayan Ji Mandir – 20th century Marwari temple in the heart of Patna City
  • Chhoti Patan Devi – one of the 51 Shakti Peeth, a site intertwining religion and local history
  • Bal Lila Maini Sangat – Sikh pilgrimage site associated with Guru Gobind Singh’s childhood miracles
  • Mangal Talab – one of the oldest ponds in Patna City and a major local landmark
  • Hitaishi Library – Patna City’s oldest functioning library dating back to 1882
  • Mir Ashraf ki Masjid – an eighteenth-century mosque complex
  • Quila House Fort area and R.K. Jalan Archives – a site steeped in history from mid-sixteenth century to present day

Participants travelled via eco-friendly e-rickshaws, making the event both accessible and sustainable. The walk celebrated Patna’s rich heritage while fostering community engagement and a deeper connection to the city’s past.
